Es gibt immer etwas Interessantes in Zandvoort zu sehen, besonders am Zandvoort Strand. z.B. Kitesurfen, Segeln oder Beachvolleyball.

Heben Sie Ihren Kopf und in den Himmel werden Sie oft Flugzeuge sehen, die dem Flughafen Schiphol Menschen aus der ganzen Welt bringen.

Im Gegensatz dazu mit einer viel langsameren Geschwindigkeit, könnten Sie sogar Menschen beim Paragliding über den Gipfeln der Dünen.

Circuit Zandvoort - Racing Circuit

Circuit Zandvoort has for many years been a key attraction for people to come and visit this small Dutch coastal resort.

Motor racing was popular in the area as far back as the 1930s when the local VVV organised races on the north side of Zandvoort. At first a basic circuit was used but for safety reasons soon led to the need for a proper, self contained racing circuit and 112 hectares of dune land was turned into a 4 km racing track in 1941.

Asphalted in 1948, the Circuit Zandvoort went on to host many motor racing highlights (1952 Grand Prix, 1961 Grand Prix etc).

The last world championship race at Circuit Zandvoort took place in 1985.

Jungen Möwen auf dem Strand Zandvoort

Eines Tages auf dem Strand von Zandvoort haben wir diese kleine Gruppe von 3 jungen Möwen bemerkt. Sie paddelten in einem der Pools, dass die Ebbe zurückgelassen hatte.

Einer der 3 jungen Möwen hatten bereits die Kunst der Suche nach Nahrung in einer solchen Situation gelernt und war damit beschäftigt, picken hier und dort im Wasser ... aber die anderen 2 Möwen standen nur da und starrte.

Sie sahen ganz verwirrt, aber nach kurzer Zeit der Beobachtung der "kenntnisreich" ein, holten sie auf die Idee. Wunderschöne Natur bei der Arbeit auf diese Weise zu sehen.

Zandvoort is a popular destination for day trippers from Amsterdam and indeed most parts of The Netherlands. It is also a favourite of many German people who come here for their summer vacation or long weekends if there is a special event taking place.

Wir haben Speiseeis oft in unserer Zandvoort Blog erwähnt. Speiseeis is so beliebt bei den Besuchern der Stadt Zandvoort. In den Sommermonaten können Sie sehen, wie Menschen Speiseeis am Strand von Zandvoort essen. Es könnte bei einem Strandcafé sein und auch bei einem vorbeifahrenden Softeisverkäufer sein. Diese Softeisverkäufer ziehen ihre Eiswagen nach oben und unten am Strand mit dem Traktor. Es gibt auch ein paar hervorragende Eisdielen in der Stadt, wo man viele wunderbare Eisbecher beobachten kann.

Paragliding Over Zandvoort Dunes

There is always something interesting happening in Zandvoort, especially at the beach.

It might be kitesurfing, sailing or people playing beach volleyball. If you lift your head and look to the sky you might see planes flying over as Schipol airport is not too far away bringing people into Amsterdam from all over the world. By contrast and moving at a much slower speed, you might even catch a glimpse of someone paragliding skimming the tops of the dunes.

Zandvoort Strand ist ein fantastischer Ort, um Spaß zu haben und auf einen ruhigen Tag, wenn es niemand herum gibt,kann sogar ein Hund Spaß haben!

Ein kleiner Hund der an einem Strandcafé Eigentümer gehört, trabte au den Strand und wurde von den Schatten eines Drachen fasziniert.

Er wurde sehr aufgeregt und jagten den Schatten! Sehen Sie dieses Video

So kommt die Frage ... ist die Jagd nach Schatten einer offiziellen Strand Sport? Wenn nicht, sollte es ... es sieht aus wie großer Spaß!

Zandvoort bietet viele Seestücke an ...es hängt von dem Wetter, der Zeit des Jahres und der Tageszeit. Sonnenuntergang auf Zandvoort Beach ist ein gutes Beispiel.

Wenn Sie Zandvoort an einem sonnigen Tag besuchen, werden Sie den Anblick ganz beeindruckend finden ... eine große Weite des blauen Meer und blauen Himmel. Wenn Sie auf dem Boulevard Paulus Loot an einem solchen Tag stehen, werden Sie kilometerweit sehen.

Hinunter auf dem Strand können Sie den weißen Schaum der Wellen beobachten, wie auf dem Foto oben. Zandvoort und blaue Himmel bedeuten ... glückliche Tage!

Zandvoort offers many seascapes depending upon the weather, time of year and time of day. Watching a Sunset On Zandvoort Beach is a great example.

Anyone who visits Zandvoort on a sunny day will be impressed by the sight that greets them ... a wide expanse of blue sea and blue sky. If you stand on Boulevard Paulus Loot on such a day you can see for miles.

Go down to the beach and you can watch the white foam of the waves as they crash onto the shore just like in the photograph above that we took last summer. Zandvoort and blue skies mean happy days!

Zandvoort ist ein Ort wo man viel Spaß haben kann. Warum? Zandvoort bietet viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten, Spaß zu haben. Zum Beispiel:

Zandvoort Strand - ideal für Familie Spaß. Der weiche Sand u ist ideal für Entspannung oder spielen mit den Kindern.

Sie können im Meer paddeln oder Segelboote und Kitesurfer beobachten. Sie können einen Strand-Café oder einen schönen Stall mit Meeresfrüchte besuchen. Manchmal kommt ein Eiswagen am Strand (von einem Traktor gezogenen!).

Sie können jede Menge Spaß am Strand genießen.

FKK Strand - eine 3 km lange Strecke liegt südlich des Hauptstrandes und erstreckt sich von paal 86 bis paal 71. Der Zandvoort FKK Strand ist bei Einheimischen und Touristen beliebt.

Zandvoort Bars - unten im Dorf gibt es einige charaktervolle Bars, wo man gut essen und trinken können. Die Laurel und Hardy Bar ist bei vielen Einheimischen als auch Touristen beliebt.

Zandvoort is a place synonomous with fun. Why? Because it offers many different ways of having fun. For example:

Zandvoort beach - great for family fun.

The soft sand and a long, wide stretch of beach is ideal for sitting and relaxing or playing with the kids.

Paddle in the sea or watch the sailing boats and kitesurfers, visit a beach cafe and enjoy some great food or wait for a nice seafood stall or the occasional ice cream cart to arrive towed by tractor.

Während der Sommermonate gibt es Tage, wenn die Sonne nicht auf Zandvoort Strand glänzt. Es kann kühl und windig sein - aber das ist die perfekte Zeit für Kitesurfen in Zandvoort!

Zandvoort bietet viele Gelegenheiten um Eis zu essen - ideal für Kinder und Erwachsene auf die warmen, sonnigen Tagen.

In Zandvoort finden Sie Eisdielen und Eis Kiosk im Dorf und auch am Strand.

Die Strandpavillons alle verkaufen Eis und auf sonnigen Tagen gibt es auch Eis-Anbieter mit Traktor und kleinen Eiswagen hinterher. Es ist ein wunderbarer Anblick! Hier ist ein Foto von South Beach Zandvoort (FKK-Strand).

Es gibt (unserer Meinung) eine besondere Eisdiele in Haltestraat (nicht weit von Kerkstraat) , wo wir viele Eis im Laufe der Jahre gegessen haben. Diese Eisdiele heißt "San Remo" und bietet ein ganz besonderes "Geheimrezept" .... "Dolce Vita ". Es ist ein Schokoladeneis aber mit einem Unterschied - lecker! Wenn Sie einen Eisbecher Fan bist, es ist ein Ort nicht zu verpassen :)

Chasing Shadows On Zandvoort Beach

Zandvoort beach is a great place to have fun and on a quiet day when there's no-one around, the fun can even extend to a pooch!

A cute little dog (belonging to a beach cafe owner) trotted down onto the sand, unable to resist chasing shadows from an overhead kite.

Unser Zandvoort Blog ist normalerweise auf Englisch aber wir haben viele Besucher aus Deutschland, die unseren deutschsprachigen Webseiten über Zandvoort lesen. Daher werden wir versuchen, Blog-Beiträge auf Deutsch von Zeit zu Zeit zu schreiben. Unser Deutsch ist nicht perfekt aber wir werden unser Bestes tun :)

Zandvoort ist eine der beliebtesten niederländischen Badeorte und befindet sich an der Nordseeküste nich weit von Amsterdam (24km) und n Haarlem (7km). Der saubere Strand (auch mit FKK Nudistenstrand) zieht immer viele Amsterdammer zu diesem Erholungsort vor allem im Frühling und im Sommer. Deshalb ist das Wetter in Zandvoort sehr wichtig. Eine der besten Websites für Wettervorhersagen für Zandvoort ist Meteopagina - in niederländischer Sprache aber es ist nicht notwendig, Niederländisch zu sprechen, um die Symbole und Temperaturen zu verstehen!

How To Make Vanilla Ice Cream

We have mentioned ice cream many times in our Zandvoort Blog because it is so popular with visitors to the town. In the summer you can see people eating ice cream on Zandvoort beach. It might be from a beach cafe where they serve ice cream bars from the freezer or it could be from a passing ice cream vendor pulling their ice cream cart up and down the beach by tractor. There are also a few excellent ice cream parlours down in the town where you can watch people eating the most fabulous ice cream sundaes.

So when you get home from Zandvoort and are missing those delicious ice creams, what do you do about it? Well, here is an idea .... make your own ice cream! Here is a video that shows you how to do it.

Beach Tyre Tracks

This is the kind of picture I like to take because it makes you pause for thought and work out what's behind it.

It's a mixture of tyre tracks and footprints in the sand.

Where? Zandvoort beach

When? At the end of a very busy day!

Made by? Thousands of people (many barefoot) first making their way up the beach (having checked that the Zandvoort weather forecast for that day was good!) and then wending their way home again + vehicles belonging to cafe owners bringing more provisions of food and drink from the town.

Those long summer days seem so far away now it's winter :(

Kitesurfing Training In Zandvoort

Know what this is?

Anyone into kitesurfing will know ... it's a trainer kite. It only has 2 lines but has a control bar and harness and is maneouvred in just the same was as a kite used in kitesurfing.

It's smaller than a standard kitesurfing kite of course but it does allow a beginner to learn some basic control skills whilst still on dry land.

Zandvoort's Young Seagulls Learn Fast!

We were watching a kitesurfer close to shore one day whilst doing a little kitesurfing video filming.

As we were getting ready to leave the beach we turned to see a small group of 3 young seagulls paddling in one of the inshore pools that the outgoing tide had left behind. We had previously spotted one young gull doing the same which we wrote about in a previous Zandvoort blog post.

This time it was a little more interesting. One of the 3 young gulls had already learned the art of finding food in this type of situation and was busy pecking here and there in the water ... but the other 2 gulls just stood and stared. They looked quite puzzled but after only a short time of watching the 'knowledgeable' one, they picked up on the idea. Wonderful to watch nature at work in this way :)

Zandvoort beach is a great place - but not just for humans!

On warm, summer days it is of course awash with people enjoying the sea, the sand and of course the delicious food and drink available from the many beach cafes.

If a busy summer day is followed by a cloudy and quiet one - and that can happen! - it's a different story, however. The 'wildlife' comes out!

Here is a picture we took at a beach cafe on one such day in July 2010. There were few people around but the sparrows were in full force, seeking out and enjoying the left over crumbs from the previous day. They are so used to humans that they wiill not readily move from their 'perch' on a cafe chair whilst you take yours on the adjacent table - they just carry on regardless!

Why Is Zandvoort Beach Deserted?

This is a rare sight ... a Sunday afternoon on a hot, sunny, summer's day and Zandvoort beach is deserted!

Where is everyone?

Well, you can probably guess if I tell you that this photograph was taken on Soccer World Cup Finals day 2010 - when The Netherlands played Spain.

The vast majority of Dutch people were busy preparing for the evening's match. The next photograph was taken a little later in Haltestraat outside one of the many Zandvoort restaurants. People were dressed in bright orange and the Dutch national colours, eating and drinking in readiness for the match to begin. Big smiles all round - until later of course when the final result was known.

Never mind ... maybe they will do better next time :)

Storm Clouds Gather Over Zandvoort

Most people agree that the best Zandvoort weather is when it is sunny, warm and dry. That is when you get to see the place at its best - alive with colour and activity with Zandvoort beach playing host to tens of thousands of people.

However, one of the most atmospheric experiences on Zandvoort beach is when there is a storm approaching.

This photograph was taken late afternoon on a summer's day when the weather was just beginning to turn. The horizon gradually grew darker and shadows rather than sunshine began to invade the beach.

The wide view of the horizon when it changes so dramatically like this is a wonderful sight to behold ... but once we had taken this shot, we quickened our pace and ran into one of the beach cafes quickly to avoid getting wet!

Orange Zandvoort

Here is another photograph from July when everyone in The Netherlands seemed to 'go orange'.

This was taken in Zandvoort and shows the top part of a building with a pub underneath. Keen to attract visitors to come in and watch the Soccer World cup, they dressed the building in orange flags, hung a Dutch national flag from the top window and draped plastic, inflated footballs down the outside.

The additional orange sign in the photograph carried a football emblem with the words "Holland WK 2010 - Binnen Voetbal Kijken"

Zandvoort bars are always welcoming to both regular and new visitors. If you are planning to visit Zandvoort you will need to check out Zandvoort accommodation well in advance as it can get very busy if there are special sporting events taking place such as at the Circuit Zandvoort.

Soccer World Cup Comes To Zandvoort

It may seems like a distant memory now, but the Dutch football team managed to get into the final of the Soccer World Cup in July. Despite the bitter disappointment that followed, the memory of an exciting 2 weeks is still strong in many people's minds.

In Zandvoort, the 2 weeks was celebrated by orange flags and banners everywhere; Dutch flags hung out of windows and shops and bars all made the most of the event by 'dressing' their buildings in ORANGE.

Here is a photo of the Laurel & Hardy bar in Haltestraat adorned in orange and green. They even created a football pitch effect around two serving areas using artificial grass. It made for a striking visual impact (pardon the pun!) and was a great hit with visitors.

Street Entertainment In Zandvoort

Every summer there is an array of street entertainment in Zandvoort. There will be musicians, artists, painters, portrait artists and sometimes even jugglers or balloon artists.

Last year we published some pictures of Balloondog Mike - a balloon artist from Vancouver who was busy entertaining people at the bottom of Kerkstraat as we passed by one evening.

Well, now we have given Balloondog Mike his very own page on our website. He kindly let us film some of his amazing balloon making skills and we have uploaded 2 videos that you can watch. So if you did not get to see Mike last year, not to worry!
